Digital Life Tales

I started blogging during the pandemic in 2020 and have developed my blog on this website and on my social media on LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Medium.

Entertainment on Patreon

I have started a more day to day short text storytelling around personal stuff, travel, locations, people and experiences which I post on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and I will now add it on Patreon where I have just set up my account as a Creator. Now, the storytelling is from my life in the Dominican Republic in Santo Domingo and Las Terrenas. From April it will be about life in England and Denmark when I am there. The content for Patreon I will develop more in the coming months. I post my day-to-day content typically around 2-3 times a week. I will increasingly use photos and videos and implement a YouTube channel. And I will add extra creative content only on Patreon to encourage Patrons to subscribe to my account. It will be a challenge.

Please follow my short storytelling and videos on my Patreon account.

Creative Writing

First, I am writing an ebook in the self-help genre. Later, I will experiment with more creative writing, maybe poetry or short stories. I have also considered writing a novel. Locations for the stories could be in all the places I have been spending more time in the last 20 years: Cuba, the Cayman Islands, the Dominican Republic, and Miami in the United States. As inspiration for my writing, from July 2022, I will be traveling to Denmark and England, where I have family as I am part Danish and part English. And during 2022, I plan to visit Spain to look into possible future residency there.

My Tool Box

I am building my online business using Google Workspace for office tools, QuickBooks Online for accounting, and GoDaddy for web hosting and web building. For email marketing, I use Mailchimp and have a database with many international contacts. These are all tools I have gradually become familiar with. I remember a quote by tech entrepreneur Mark Cuban for entrepreneurs regarding technology; “use what you know,” and working independently, I am fortunate to have that choice.  Recently, I started working with Dashlane Password Manager to manage all my passwords, and to improve my writing and editing, I have started using ProWritingAid. This integrates well with Google Docs and, supposedly, is good, especially for creative writing. I want to learn more about SEO and will test several tools for analytics. I am using LinkedIn Learning as a learning platform, and as a subscriber, I follow GoDaddy, Mailchimp, and QuickBooks Online for courses they offer relevant to my writing and online business.

I am building my online business with writing using Google Workspace for office tools and I have been using googles products for years and always look to see if they have a solution to a problem. I remember a quote by tech entrepreneur Mark Cuban for entrepreneurs regarding technology; “use what you know,” and working independently, I am fortunate to have that choice.

GoDaddy Website Builder

I use the platform GoDaddy for hosting my website and I use their website builder. I can easily manage it and I publish my blog posts directly from my iPhone via the GoDaddy App. They make it easy for someone who prefers to work from a mobile device. I communicate with their support on WhatsApp. I have been using the website builder for almost three years now and have not had a problem.

Stripe Payment Gateway

My goal as a writer and solopreneur is to do everything myself and only pay an outside help for annual taxes. I am now learning to use Quickbooks Online. It is sort of the last thing left I need to master as I write and edit myself. My marketing I have set up with my website and social media and work on that myself. I will also be working myself with my personal finances, investments and accounting. I am not working with any investment advisors.

Recently, I started working with Dashlane Password Manager to manage all my passwords. I use it together with Google Authenticator as two factor authentication and it is a good combination for my login security.

For email marketing, I have used Mailchimp and have a database with many international contacts. I imported all my contacts to my Mailchimp account and sent several campaigns using a paid plan. Now I have under 2,000 contacts and use the free plan.

Yoga

Yoga and meditation is something one can learn to do from anywhere one goes and I found an App called Yoga with excellent exercises and instructions. My preferred exercise is walking, swimming and yoga. I try to walk every day and swim if there are any facilities nearby for it.
